What began as one simple idea quickly turned into three separate “girl” songs written over the same weekend — “Baby Baby Girl,” “Crazy Crazy Girl,” and “Lazy Girl.”

The Story Behind "Baby Baby Girl"

I believe songwriting ideas can’t be parked for later — when inspiration hits, you have to grab it while it’s alive in your head. During that weekend burst of creativity, the hooks, melodies, and playful “baby girl” phrases kept looping through my mind one after another until the song practically wrote itself. The result is a carefree, feel-good track filled with movement, rhythm, and tropical energy.

The Music and Vibe

Built around a catchy reggae-pop groove, “Baby Baby Girl” blends beachside romance, dancefloor warmth, and laid-back summer vibes into one infectious singalong. With hypnotic choruses, playful vocals, and a smooth rhythmic flow, the track captures the feeling of sunset drinks, ocean breezes, and losing yourself in the music while somebody special dances nearby.

Finding the right singer for this track took me well beyond Australia. I discovered Omari Brown online and immediately felt his voice suited the relaxed tropical vibe I was chasing. Rather than recording together in the same room, Omari performed his vocals remotely from overseas while connected directly into the recording session at Moreish Studios in Melbourne. Despite being on opposite sides of the world, the collaboration worked seamlessly. His smooth vocal delivery brought warmth, personality, and authenticity to the song, helping transform “Baby Baby Girl” into the feel-good reggae-pop track I had imagined when I first wrote it.
